Here are a few tips that I think will help you get started in your
EVS
1.
First of all, you have to do Europass CV. It is
not mandatory but it is recommended. In this way, the host organization will
see your experience, skills, etc ... also is valid as a curriculum in workplace
because it is an official document for
all of Europe.
In the paragraph "Europass",
inside of this blog, i attached official website where you can fill and download in your computer.
2.
In the paragraph "EVS PROJECTS",
inside of this blog, you can see the
different countries with their respective projects. There are a lot of themes
to choose from.
My advice is that you have to choice themes
that you like or those what you think that are more suited to your abilities.
For example, if you are a person who likes sports, you can focus on the theme
"Education trought sport and outdoor activities."
Another little tip is that inside the paragraph "Type of Accreditation",
select the "Host organization", of this way, you are assured a place
in order to to live in your new city.
After selecting the theme, organization Host
option, and the country, if you have any particular preference, you will see
the description of each project that is in that city develops, activities, etc
...
3.
When you are know what are your project, you
have to make a "motivation letter" for each of them, putting the
project reference number, for example: 2013-EE-35.
After that, you have to put a little personal
information, your name, your age, your country ... and put your taste your
interests, skills, and very important to put, those things that you think that
you can to contribute to the project, as well as those that you think will get
doing the project.
No matter how many motivation letters you make , there is not a limited number, but this step is
required, and you must send it directly or through your sending organization.
4.
Another bit of advice, do not be discouraged,
you write, write and write motivation letters and you send, send and
send projects, is the only way you can be within. You'll get it! : )
5.
When you know that you'll be a new european
volunteer, is interesting to look information about the country and the city
where you're going, currency, temperature, environment, etc. .. This is
obvious, but I had to put it.
6.
You can also to be in Facebook groups related to your new
city, for example, "Russians in Berlin"(I don´t know if its exist, I
put it random). It seems silly but it really is very helpful, there are people
who live longer in that city and they can give you good advice. In addition,
there is always the possibility to stay with them, do activities, excursions,
socialize and meet new people, who knows, maybe you to find the love of your
life hahahaha.
7.
Enjoy every day of your new experience, and you
live "to full" each experience, the time passes very quickly.
